“Serious Mental Health Challenges among Older Adolescents and Young Adults” – The CBHSQ Report

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services AdministrationThis report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration discusses mental health issues, co-occurring disorders, and mental health services use among older adolescents ages 16 to 17 and young adults ages 18 to 25. The report finds that older adolescents and young adults with emotional and behavioral health conditions are more likely to have significant problems with school performance, employment, and housing stability, compared with their peers without these conditions. Data used in this report are from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health from 2010 and 2012.
