Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services AdministrationThe Substance Abuse and Mental Health Data Archive’s data and documentation files include variables on serious mental illness and any mental illness. NSDUH is the primary source for national and state-level estimates on the prevalence, patterns, and consequences of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drug use and abuse in the general U.S. civilian non-institutionalized population.
