Mapping the Criminal Justice System to Connect Justice-Involved Individuals with Treatment and Health Care Under the Affordable Care Act This report by the National Institute of Corrections provides a guide for states and local jurisdictions interested in using system mapping to maximize opportunities for criminal justice and health care system integration and efficiency through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). As states begin to implement the Affordable Care Act and individuals involved with the criminal justice system begin to receive care through Medicaid and marketplace coverage, criminal justice agencies should be part of the planning and implementation conversations. The system mapping process is a launching point for enhancing system efficiency and effectiveness related to the ACA.
