Verbal De-Escalation and Crisis Communication Training

ncjtc logoThe National Criminal Justice Training Center of Fox Valley Technical College is hosting a training aimed at helping law enforcement and others who work with people in crisis–such as court system personnel, educators, social workers, and victim service providers–learn de-escalation communication skills to defuse situations and lead to more successful resolutions. Participants will learn how to use verbal and non-verbal approaches to improve service outcomes; how to consider and apply techniques when encountering people who are suffering from some form of crisis; how to demonstrate active listening skills; and how to best communicate and empathize with those suffering from short and long-term crises.
