Police Officer Toolkit: PTSD and Military Veterans

U.S. Department of Veterans AffairsThis toolkit from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Center for PTSD was created to assist police officers—and those who train police officers—to more effectively interact with veterans who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The toolkit provides information on recognizing the symptoms of PTSD, strategies for interacting with veterans with PTSD, and strategies for police self-care, as well as training materials on military culture, information related to Veterans Treatment Court, and self-help resources.
