Criminal justice professionals must be able to rely on their partners in the behavioral health system to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, provide necessary services, and oversee behavioral health services in their communities. Frequently, criminal justice professionals are unaware of or lack training in effective responses to mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders. This session will provide a basic overview of behavioral health issues for criminal justice professionals.
