Towards Effective Family Involvement: Real Tools, Real Skills, Real Engagement

This workshop expands on the highly popular Winter 2013 CSG webinar, Family Engagement in Juvenile Justice: Making it Real. It offers participants the opportunity to concretely experience precepts, and tools that the presenter, in collaboration with a national network of innovators, is using to advance and enhance juvenile justice’s capacity to support the effective involvement of families of youth involved with the juvenile justice. This work is strongly rooted in the advances in children’s behavioral health. The approaches support the delivery of behavioral health care for youth involved with juvenile justice, as well as improved family involvement for the larger juvenile justice system. Participants will receive materials, which they can use to expand and enhance their own efforts to support the involvement of families in both their child’s juvenile justice experience, and in system design and oversight.
