Evidence-Based Practices KIT: Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders

Co-occurring disorders, Evidence-based practices

This resource is one in a series of evidence-based practice (EBP) KITs created by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) to support the implementation of effective mental health practices. This KIT provides detailed practice principles about integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (CODs), an approach that offers mental health and substance use disorder treatment services at the same time and in the same setting. The KIT materials include an overview of how to plan, implement, and sustain the EBP in a program and make it culturally competent. This KIT is intended for a wide audience including practitioners, administrators, consumers and their families, communities, and states interested in integrated treatment for CODs.
