This collaborative effort between Pew’s Economic Mobility Project and the Public Safety Performance Project of the Pew Center on the States examines the impact of incarceration on economic mobility, noting that its effects reverberate beyond the individual to his or her children. The report presents several recommendations to reduce the productivity losses associated with incarceration.
