Incarceration to Reentry: Education & Training Pathways in Ohio

CLASPThis report from the Center for Law and Social Policy examines how Ohio is reforming its criminal justice system by aligning education and training opportunities for people who are currently or formerly incarcerated, offering a blueprint for implementation for other states. It is the third brief in the “Reconnecting Justice in the States” series, which explores coordinated justice, education, and workforce policies and practices at the state level. Focusing on the theme of continuity from incarceration to reentry, this brief highlights how Ohio shifted investments in correctional education, going from comprehensive programming to narrower job training offerings, and improving educational opportunities and reducing related collateral consequences.
