This report from the Advancement Project offers concrete recommendations on how New York State’s Rochester City School District can improve its disciplinary polices. The report calls for the school district to eliminate zero-tolerance policies and vague offenses from its student Code of Conduct. It also recommends the use of restorative justice, and urges the district to reform its Memorandum of Understanding with school police.
