Second Chance Act Grantee Training: Engaging Local Employers–A Sector-Based Approach
Hosted by the National Reentry Resource Center with funding support from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance
On November 30th and December 1st, the National Reentry Resource Center hosted the 2017 Second Chance Act Training for Technology Career-Based Training Program grantees. This training prepared corrections, reentry, and workforce development directors and managers as well as direct service providers for developing system-wide, sustainable reentry and employment programming. Speakers at this training provided unique insights into opportunities to support increased access to employment opportunities for the reentry population.
This session includes a discussion with Sherri Moses, a policy analyst at CSG Justice Center, Christine Hopkins, the director of MTRR and a FY 15 Second Chance Act Technology Career-Based Training Program grantee, and Scott Crago, plant manager at JSP International, on best practices for engaging employers in hiring people with criminal records.
