The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center is proud to introduce and extend a warm welcome to three exceptional individuals who have joined our organization, representing their respective areas of focus on the senior leadership team. Each brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and enthusiasm that will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of the CSG Justice Center.
Dr. Maya McDoom, Director of Strategic Alignment
In her role, Dr. McDoom guides collaboration among the CSG Justice Center’s leadership team and enhances organizational alignment on priorities and outcomes. She brings her expertise in research and operations with valuable experience from the Center for Policing Equity and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. Dr. McDoom’s previous work has focused on health equity and program management.
Christopher Horn, Director of Communications and External Affairs
Christopher excels in strategic planning and digital communications and oversees the development and implementation of the CSG Justice Center’s communications strategies. Previously, Christopher led communications at both C40 Cities and American Forests, where he spearheaded global and regional initiatives to raise awareness of the organizations’ key issues and programmatic goals.
Susan Gottesfeld, Director of Reentry Initiatives
Susan leads the CSG Justice Center’s reentry and juvenile justice initiatives, bringing her extensive experience in serving individuals impacted by the criminal justice system. She previously served as the chief program officer and executive vice president at the Osborne Association, specializing in alternative incarceration programs. Susan’s career reflects her dedication to reducing the human and economic costs of incarceration.
