Ashley Nguyen works on the Justice Reinvestment Initiative, assisting state policymakers to reduce recidivism and improve criminal justice outcomes. She previously worked at the Harris County Public Defender’s Office, where she provided case management services and holistic support to clients and defense attorneys. Ashley also worked as a research assistant at the Prison and Jail Innovation Lab, interviewing criminal justice leaders and producing written materials for the first national clearinghouse on correctional oversight bodies. She holds a BA in sociology from Rice University and an MPAff from the University of Texas at Austin.
