How Technical Assistance Improves Responses to People with Behavioral Health Needs in the Justice and Crisis Systems
Hosted by The Council of State Governments Justice Center, the National Association of Counties, the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, and the Langeloth Foundation
Join the Stepping Up partners—The Council of State Governments Justice Center, the National Association of Counties, and the American Psychiatric Association Foundation—for a facilitated panel discussion to learn about organizations’ efforts to advance best practices at the intersection of criminal justice and behavioral health. Representatives from the Center for Effective Public Policy, National Governors Association, National Criminal Justice Association, Urban Institute, and Vera will join this event to provide a virtual “vendor hall” experience and discuss how the technical assistance they offer local and state-based entities helps move the field forward on topics including racial equity, involving people with lived experience in planning and implementation of policies and programs, and traumatic brain injury. The discussion will include a preview of upcoming opportunities in 2024 to support counties and states at this critical intersection.
