Right Person, Right Time, Right Response

In this field-wide virtual discussion, experts from Policy Research Associates (PRA) and the CSG Justice Center will share resources and facilitate a discussion to identify strategies and best practices—with and without law enforcement—for early responses at intercepts 0 and 1. Topics will include collaboration, funding, adjusting response needs, and identifying more appropriate goals of support. Panelists from Athens, GA; Middlesex County, MA; and Pima County, AZ will discuss community-led initiatives and involvement. They will also talk about their experiences gaining buy-in from elected officials to prevent people with mental illnesses and substance use disorders from entering the criminal justice system.
