Medication Assisted Treatment in Jails and Community-Based Settings

Prescription opioid and heroin use have contributed to an increase in substance use disorders in the United States. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based practice with a strong research base that can be an important tool to assist in an individual’s recovery from substance use disorders. This webinar is designed for Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program and Second Chance Act Reentry Program for Adults with Co-occurring Substance Use and Mental Disorders grantees and features speakers from three different grant programs that are utilizing MAT in jail and community-based settings for people involved in the justice system. Speakers from each jurisdiction share examples of utilizing methadone and naltrexone within their programs and there will be ample time for questions and answers during the webinar.
