Hosted by The CSG Justice Center with Funding Support from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance

In this webinar, officials from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and The Council of State Governments Justice Center explain the Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program and how law enforcement agencies can apply for this grant.

The JMHCP grant supports innovative cross-system collaboration for individuals with mental disorders or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders who come into contact with the justice system. BJA is placing a priority on applications from law enforcement agencies that demonstrate a collaborative project with mental health partners to plan, implement, or expand a justice and mental health collaboration program. Such programs can include assessment and referral centers, training for officers, and information systems and technologies to improve officer and agency responses to people with mental disorders. Each grantee is given the opportunity to tailor their programming to respond best to the particular needs of their community. Applications are due May 17, 2016.
