Understanding the Expanded Risk-Need-Responsivity Model, Supervision, Programming, and Dosage

The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) will host a two-part fieldwide webinar series on the risk-need-responsivity (RNR) model that will cover foundational components and how to tailor interventions to individuals with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders in the justice system. This session—part one—will discuss the 18 components of the expanded RNR model; provide an overview of criminogenic risk, need, and responsivity principles; and present a set of national guidelines to ensure accurate, fair, and transparent risk and need assessments.
