Maya Nakamura

Maya Nakamura supported projects improving states’ victim compensation programs. Previously, Maya oversaw the daily operations of the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK) emergency shelter as the shelter advocate in the Greater Boston area, where she also spent a year working as a residential counselor during university. Before returning to ATASK, Maya worked at national health policy and advocacy organization Community Catalyst, where she supported projects on Medicaid expansion, health equity, and equitable grant-making decisions. Maya holds a BS in behavior and health from Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences with a minor in Japanese language and literature.
