Community Supervision and Substance Use Disorders, Collaborating for Effective Training and Responses

Successfully supervising people with substance use disorders in the community relies on strong collaboration between community supervision officers and substance use disorder treatment providers. In this webinar, panelists discuss best practices to ensure collaborative responses are maintained based on the drug of choice in a given community, effective training for agency staff is utilized, and that effective communication between community supervision and treatment providers is maintained. Jac Charlier, director of consulting and training at the Center for Health and Justice at TASC, provides an overview of the three key topic areas, and pairs of speakers representing both community supervision and behavioral health treatment agencies provide insights about how they coordinate to provide effective training and interventions in their jurisdictions.
