Amber Watlington

Amber Watlington assists state agencies in applying data-driven information to make decisions on decreasing recidivism and advancing results for individuals on community supervision. Prior to joining the CSG Justice Center, Amber worked as a diversion specialist with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina, aiming to keep youth out of the juvenile justice system. She used evidence-based practices to provide youth with the necessary tools to reduce delinquency. Amber also specialized in data analytics and provided up-to-date diversion data for various stakeholders, such as the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council. Amber has a BS in criminal justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an MS in criminal justice from Saint Leo University.
