Ellen Whelan-Wuest

Ellen Whelan-Wuest provides policy research, analysis, and assistance to states looking to improve public safety, reduce corrections and related criminal justice spending, and reinvest savings in strategies that can decrease crime and reduce recidivism. Ellen has worked with state and county leaders on initiatives that focus on the intersection of behavioral health and criminal justice, jail population growth, domestic and interpersonal violence, community supervision improvements, and prison reentry planning. Prior to joining the CSG Justice Center, Ellen worked for county, state, and federal offices in North Carolina, New York, and Illinois. Ellen holds a BA in history and sociology from Middlebury College and an MA in public policy from Duke University.
