Jessa Bullock-Barrett (she/her) works on the Economic Mobility team as a legal fellow. She previously worked as a legal policy fellow for the DC Justice Lab, researching and creating unique strategies to improve the DC Criminal Code for reentering citizens and directly impacted people. Her accomplishments include drafting an earned compliance credit for those on supervision in DC and working with stakeholders to implement a permanent safe surrender program. Jessa graduated from Howard University Law School, focusing on prison policy and reentry services, serving organizational clients seeking to amend Federal Bureau of Prison (BOP) policies, and representing clients seeking to clear their criminal records. She has a BS in criminology and sociology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
