Michelle Fernando provides behavioral health technical assistance related to community responder programs. She supports a variety of stakeholders, including, but not limited to, local and state leaders, law enforcement, and policymakers. Prior to joining the CSG Justice Center, Michelle worked for the New York City’s Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, where she assisted with the implementation and development of the Housing and Urban Development’s Coordinated Entry policy. Michelle has also provided economic empowerment direct service to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence at Sanctuary for Families. Michelle earned her BA in sociology from St. John’s University and her MSW from Silberman School of Social Work—Hunter College.
