Paul Nichols works with the team to leverage data to help move state legislators towards adopting important criminal justice reforms. Prior to joining the CSG Justice Center, he held various leadership positions in the New York State Senate and played a role in bringing meaningful changes to the justice system, such as voting rights for the formerly incarcerated and anti-employment discrimination for individuals with a criminal record. He was previously the director of a local community center that created programs to engage youth at risk of justice system involvement. Also an attorney, Paul has worked in the New York State Supreme Court, in the U.S. Congress, and for a corporate law firm. He received his BA from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and his JD from New York Law School.
