Dr. Sara Bastomski conducted research and evaluations on public safety policy. She had over 10 years of experience studying the causes and consequences of crime victimization and using data to inform policy in the criminal justice and victim service fields. Her research employed advanced quantitative methods, such as statistical modeling and quasi-experimental approaches, as well as qualitative methods. Sara’s work has emphasized researcher-practitioner partnerships to ensure that project findings are meaningful to diverse stakeholder audiences. She previously conducted research at the Urban Institute, RAND Corporation, and for community organizations, and was an adjunct faculty member in sociology at the George Washington University. She holds a PhD in sociology from Yale University.
