Shannon Moriarty

Deputy Division Director, Communications and External Affairs

Shannon Moriarty helps oversee the Communications and External Affairs Division and works to strengthen the CSG Justice Center’s reputation as a trusted leader in the criminal justice field. She provides strategic direction to align the organization’s public affairs, editorial, and digital strategy. Prior to joining the CSG Justice Center, Shannon led communications for The Doe Fund, a NYC-based nonprofit that provides workforce reentry training to homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals. She was the communications director for the NYU Furman Center, a data-driven think tank at NYU School of Law advancing research on housing, neighborhoods, and urban policy. Previously, Shannon was a founding writer and editor at Change.org and a policy researcher at the National Alliance to End Homelessness. She holds a BA in political science from Bridgewater State University and an MA in urban and environmental policy and planning from Tufts University.
