Ziev Dalsheim-Kahane is a senior policy analyst working to unite leaders across the country to improve reentry systems and support reintegration for people leaving prisons and jails or on community supervision. He previously served as criminal justice and public safety policy advisor to North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, where his work spanned issues including racial equity in the criminal justice system; improving reentry, rehabilitation, and educational services for formerly incarcerated people and people who are incarcerated; and reducing community violence. During his time in the governor’s office, he also covered educational issues, including higher education governance, school nutrition, and educator diversity. Ziev began his career teaching fifth grade math in Philadelphia. He earned a BA in political science from Williams College.
