Children of Incarcerated Parents: An Action Plan for Federal Policymakers

This action plan is meant to encourage policy changes that help improve the outcomes for children who have a parent in prison or jail. It is informed by a broad array of criminal justice and child welfare experts, including representatives from local and national children- and family-focused organizations, state human and social services directors, corrections officials, and researchers.
