Responding to the 2018 Second Chance Act Adult Reentry and Employment Solicitation

Hosted by the National Reentry Resource Center, with funding support from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance

In this webinar, representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the National Reentry Resource Center review the new grant program on adult reentry and employment. BJA will award planning grants of $200,000 to as many as six applicants to develop strategic plans that are comprehensive, collaborative, and multi-systemic in their approach to increasing public safety by reducing recidivism and improving the employability of people returning to communities after incarceration.

State correctional agencies, state administrative agencies (SAAs), and federally recognized Native American tribes are eligible to apply for funding as lead applicants; partnerships with community correctional agencies, workforce development agencies, and other entities are encouraged.

  • Opportunities for awardees to compete for two-year implementation grants of up to $1,000,000 each.
